UPDATE 2020 – Tuckers added a huge tent in their back parking lot as well as an outdoor Beer Garden. (Full bar service)
Tuckers added a large tent in their back parking lot for meals. There are also some high tops for the outdoor bar. In addition, there is the Bouy Bar upstairs and an open deck at the rear of the building
The tent has a number of picnic type tables. We stopped at the bar and there was some great live acoustic music.
The Beer Garden is a small but well stocked outdoor bar. They suggested a watermelon/sea salt beer. I forget the name of it but it was a good choice.
Tucker’s Tavern is located on the corner of Engleside and West Avenues. The menu includes typical pub food, a raw bar and a selection of craft beer.
Tucker’s was formerly known as Gus and Whitey’s, a popular lounge and restaurant in the 1960’s. Today they offer live music and the Buoy Bar, their rooftop bar.
I stopped in with my mom in July 2019. She uses a walker. The staff was very accommodating to her needs. There is a ramp from the rear parking lot. They seated us on the first level so she didn’t have to deal with the steps to the larger eating area.
We each had the crab cake sandwiches. That turned out to be a great choice. See their menu for more information.
Tucker’s offers dining on the street level porch. You can get a decent sunset view from there.
The latest addition at Tucker’s is the rooftop Buoy Bar with views of the bay.
Tuckers is located at 101 S West Ave in Beach Haven 08008. With many restaurants converting their parking lots to tents for 2020, parking can be a little tight.
