Bistro 14 revisited July 2023

My girlfriend and I visited Bistro 14 on a slightly overcast Saturday in July in search of a delightful dining experience with a view. We were delighted by its charming ambiance and convenient location – offering stunning bay views from its outdoor seating deck.

From the moment we arrived, Ava greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. She quickly took our order, leaving us eager to explore the menu offerings. To start off our culinary adventure we indulged in Split Just Peachy Sangria which set a refreshing yet perfectly balanced mood for our evening of culinary exploration. Bistro 14 is officially BYOB. However, the Ship Bottom brewery is next door. Also, Bistro 14 is a distributor for Sharrott wines. Therefore you can order a half or full bottle of some really great wine.

As our starter course, we decided on the Tomato Tartine Salmon Special. It arrived beautifully presented, boasting fresh tomatoes ripened to perfection alongside flavorful salmon on a bed of toasted bread – and each bite brought a burst of taste with every bite – an enjoyable start to our meal.

After selecting our main courses, I ordered the Duck Breast Special while my girlfriend decided on an the Salmon. Both dishes were delightful – the duck breast was juicy and tender with an irresistibly delectable glaze that brought out its natural flavors; additionally, the accompanying side dishes were delightful and completed the experience wonderfully; finally, an Iced Tea proved refreshing on such a warm summer evening.

As soon as we saw the dessert menu, we knew we had to order Profiteroles – these delicate pastry shells filled with delicious cream were deliciously light yet airy, topped off with decadent chocolate sauce for an exquisite ending to our meal. Each bite was pure bliss! What an ideal way to round off our experience.

As soon as our bill arrived, we were pleased with its overall value in terms of food and service quality. With taxes included, the total was an acceptable $131.15, making for an exceptional dining experience!

Bistro 14 was an unforgettable dining experience, from its picturesque waterfront setting and friendly service from Ava to delicious dishes prepared with precision, full of flavor and perfectly presented. Our experience left us satisfied palates and eager to return in the near future; we highly recommend Bistro 14 to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience on Beach Haven Bay in New Jersey.

Bistro 14 has added sidewalk seating in addition to their upstairs porch. 

The sidewalk seating is on Seagull Lane which does not have a lot of vehicle traffic. What traffic there is consists of passenger cars and not trucks. 

Bistro 14 in Beach Haven

Bistro 14 is located in Bay Village in Beach Haven. Their second floor deck offers a view of the bay. While it isn’t waterfront, it is one of the few such views on the island. If you are lucky, you can catch a great view of a sunset while enjoying a good wine.

The sidewalk dining offers an excellent opportunity for people watching.

Location

The restaurant is located on the east side of Bay Village at 830 N Bay Ave, Beach Haven, NJ 08008. Parking can be tight during busy days. There is a free parking lot on 9th Street at the bay.
