This was from 2006. A boat was heading out through the breakers at Barnegat Inlet. Actually, this is not a rough inlet by Barnegat Light standards.
The Harvey Cedars Bible Conference was formerly the Harvey Cedars Hotel.
While walking on the beach, you might encounter egg cases from Skates.
The Colonial Theater served Beach Haven from the 1920’s to around 2000.
For a while, the Saint Francis Catholic Church would hold Sunday Masses there as it was air conditioned and had more seating than the original church. The theater was one of three on the the island. The Colony Theater in Brant Beach is long gone. There was another next to the Acme Grocery Store. The nearest movie theater is the Regal Cinema in Manahawkin near the Garden State Parkway.

If you look in the shallow bay waters, you will occasionally see a Horseshoe crab. If you think they look weird, consider that they have been around for over 450 million years.

A visit to the Barnegat Lighthouse and Park is a great way to spend a day. The Barnegat Lighthouse was built in 1855. It was designed by the Union Army General George “Snapping Turtle” Meade. Old Barney stands 165 feet high.
There are a number of Boat Launching ramps on Long Beach Island. Most of them charge a fee. Parking varies at each lot.

Antoinetta’s Restaurant is a Victorian Style Building on the Bay in West Creek, New Jersey. It is accessible by boat from LBI. My son and I would visit on our Seadoo for lunch.
