A look at Long Beach Island, NJ
Morrison’s ship’s store has been moved to a trailer. In its place is a new market.
Morrison’s Marina has long been a staple of LBI. The Ship’s Store had just about everything you would need for your boat whether is was a 14′ garvey or a 90′ ocean going yacht. The ship’s store has moved to a trailer in the yard. In it’s place is an upscale market.
Morrison’s Restaurant was one of the iconic restaurants on Long Beach Island. I was right on the bay. You could visit by land or sea and enjoy a variety of fresh seafood with a view of the bay. Unfortunately it burned down in 2004.
We visited on a dreary Sunday morning. We passed Uncle Wills and the Bagel Shack and both had long lines. When we got to the Queen City Market, there were only about a half dozen people. We had already had breakfast so we ordered a muffin, coffee and tea.
There is ample seating inside and on the deck. In addition, there are about a dozen picnic tables below the deck. The atmosphere inside is light and airy.
The menu was reasonably priced and the selection was large. Offerings included sandwiches, ice cream and more.
We will definitely be going back.
Check out the Queen City Market menu . The Queen city marina website appears to be in the early stages of construction as of July 2023
The Queen City Market is located at the corner of N. Pennsylvania Avenue and Second Street in Beach Haven.
