A look at Long Beach Island, NJ
Kapler’s Pharmacy in Beach Haven is a small local pharmacy. In the 1940’s they had an ice cream fountain. That is long gone.
I saw this coming back from a fishing trip in 2005. It’s not as bad as it seems.

The Dairy King is a small ice/cream custard stand in North Beach Haven.
The Silver Sun Mall is located at 3rd Street and the Boulevard in Beach Haven. It houses a variety of small stores selling beach goods, art and clothing. Prior to it’s current incarnation as a mall, the Silver Sun was home to Koseff’s,
There are a number of Boat Launching ramps on Long Beach Island. Most of them charge a fee. Parking varies at each lot.
Boating on Long Beach Island began with the canoes of the Native Americans. There are some rumors that Viking Longships may have visited the area prior to Columbus. During the 1800’s sailing vessels such as Catboats filled the bay.
This picture probably could have been taken 40 years ago. A classic wooden Sport Fisherman is towing a classic Catboat. Both are from a bygone era.
