The LBI Stores and Restaurants under Covid are certainly different than they were previously. Early in the season most of the stores were closed. Now some outdoor dining is available and some stores can let people in with restrictions
UPDATE – July 2020 – The waterslides appeared to be open on July 12th 2020. There will undoubtedly be Covid-19 related restriction.
The Thundering Surf WaterPark offers several water slides. There is a meandering tubing ride that is great for chilling out on a hot summer’s day. If you have younger children, there is an area for them. On your way up to the slides, you can man the water cannons and hose down the tubers and other slide riders. There is a massive bucket that is constantly filling and periodically tips over to deluge anyone nearby.
Mustache Bill’s is a classic diner in Barnegat Light.
The Ketch, formerly the Acme Bar, is now Bird and Betty’s.
We visited the California Grill for some takeout. We’ve eaten on their patio before. The food is mostly Burgers, wraps, hoagies and steaks. The food and service have always been good.
We stopped at the Engleside’s Outdoor bar, the Sandbar on Friday, July 3rd 2020.
As of July 3rd, 2020, Barry’s Do Me a Flavor in Beach Haven had a large tent for outdoor dining as well as takeout.
The Gables offers fairly elegant outdoor dining thanks to their large open porch.
Noller’s is currently Fred’s Beach Haven Diner. The interior, especially the diner part, retains the 1960’s retro feel.
