The fish factory processed Bunker. It was very active in the 1970’s. At some point after that, it ceased operations.
The old Coast Guard Station in Barnegat Light has been acquired by the Borough of Barnegat Light and is now the Borough Hall.

The Rutgers University Marine Field Station is housed in the former United States Coast Guard Station Little Egg.
For a number of years, the retired Coast Guard Cutter 44355 was on display at the Bayview Park. Bayview Park is located across from the Long Beach Township Municipal Buildings on Long Beach Boulevard.
At the very south end of Long Beach Island, in Holgate, there is a beach area for fishing and bathing. These activities are dependent on the condition of the beach and nesting birds. There is a small parking area (Free in 2018) along with restrooms. Bowker’s is a short walk if you want to grab something to eat.
